🔍 Know your tea

CTC (crush, tear, curl) is the process that rolls fresh tea leaves into black granules. We use bigger grains, never dust, so Mahak is made for brewing at home, for a cup that's just as good without the sugar.

☕ How to brew

Rozana

☕ Strong, milky chai

Boil a cup of water, add 1 heaped teaspoon and simmer for 1 to 2 minutes. Add milk, bring it back to the boil, simmer a minute more and strain. Sugar is up to you: Rozana holds up without it.

Kabhi Kabhi

🌼 Chai with kesar

Brew it like Rozana, and drop 2 to 3 strands of saffron into the pot while it simmers for a golden colour and gentle aroma.

Homemade Chai Masala

✨ Masala chai

Add a pinch per cup while the tea simmers, before the milk goes in, so the spices open up in the water.

Mahak Sehat: Green Tea and White Tea

🍃 Never boil these

Let boiled water rest for 2 to 3 minutes, to about 75 to 80°C. Steep green for 2 to 3 minutes and white for 3 to 5. Boiling water or long steeping turns them bitter.

Assam Oolong

🫖 Hot, not boiling

Use water at about 85 to 90°C and steep for 3 to 4 minutes. The leaves open up slowly, so you can steep them again.

Assam Black Orthodox

🍂 A bright black cup

Pour just-boiled water over 1 teaspoon per cup and steep for 3 to 4 minutes. Enjoy it plain, with lemon, or with a splash of milk.
